Reaching the World
Dedicated to Missions and Evangelism

Dear Partners & Friends,

Thank you for your prayers and concern for our workers in Myanmar. We appreciate your phone calls and e-mails.

This morning we were very distressed to learn that the number of dead is so high in Myanmar. As we were preparing for the worse news we received an e-mail from Rev. Ca Hngak that they were "saved by the grace of God". All of the RTW staff, workers and students have survived the disaster and are OK. We know this is a miracle and we rejoice and thank God for their divine protection and safety.

Rev. Ca Hngak has told us that many of their homes are destroyed and the church and headquarters are damaged. We are raising the funds to help them rebuild and survive these difficult times. 100% of funds given will go directly to aid our people in Myanmar.

Pray that things in Myanmar will change for the better. Now that the whole world is looking at Myanmar we are believing for a positive change for the people. Continue to pray for our staff and workers as they rebuild their lives and as they witness and help those around them.

We continue to pray and believe God for many great testimonies to come from this terrible and difficult time. Thank you for standing with us in this ministry.

In His Service,

Roger and Mary King

Dear Partners and Friends,

This is an emergency newsletter concerning Myanmar.  We have received devastating news that Yangon the capitol of Myanmar has been hit by a cyclone on Saturday May 3.  Reports have been coming in that 10,000 have died and the whole area is badly damaged. We have been working in Myanmar for 21 years and have established a number of churches, 1 bible school and help 2 others and have a children’s home with around 40 children there.

Reaching the World has it’s headquarters in Yangon and we are deeply concerned about our workers and students there.  We have not been in contact with them since all phones and internet are down at the moment.  Our Director Rev. Ca Hngak is based in Yangon along with the main church and bible school.  The buildings are very fragile and basic and we do not hold out much hope that they have withstood the 120 mph winds.  We pray for the protection and safety of our staff and friends.

We urgently ask for your prayers.  We also need to raise additional funds to help our people in Myanmar.  We have a strong successful work in Myanmar and we will rebuild and care for our people who have tirelessly worked for the Lord.

The children’s home is in Shan State and is not affected by the cyclone. But the problem is that they will not be able to receive funds from headquarters which will cause hardship for them and the cost of rice and food have gone up excessively since the cyclone.

Thank you for standing with us and for your help in coming to the aid of RTW in Myanmar.  We will keep you updated about our workers and students caught up in this disaster as we receive information.
