Dear
Partners,
As
we begin to enter into spring and newness of
life we want to remind you to guard your heart
against all the negative reports coming from
the news and media. God is our source and we
must keep our eyes on Him and the truth of the
Word of God. In the midst of difficult times
we are blessed and Gods provision is more
than enough. We pray that God will give you
an abundance of wisdom for your lives and ministries.
Philippians
4:7-
and the peace of God
which surpasses all understanding, will guard
your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
News
from Kenya:
The
political trouble in Kenya caused by tribal
violence has resulted in many murders causing
people to be displaced from their homes and
villages. Pastor Meshack and his family had
to flee from their village and go to another
area to be safe. In this new area he has started
a church which is growing and doing well. They
are in the process of raising the money to put
a roof on the church building.
Pastor
Meshack and his wife Grace are committed to
teaching and training pastors. They continue
to develop this area and we have an open invitation
to come to Kenya to help train pastors. Many
pastors have no training and they rely on these
training sessions.
The
childrens home is growing and doing well.
They have just taken in three more children
that lost their parents in the recent political
violence. The orphanage now has electricity.
Please pray for them as the country is suffering
from a food shortage which is affecting the
children. Pastor Meshack has requested prayer
for an eight year old boy that has been diagnosed
with AIDS. They are making sure at the orphanage
that he receives the proper medical treatment
and drugs.
Peace
has been restored to Kenya but the recent violence
and political struggle has hurt the country.
The church and childrens school that pastor
Meshack started in the slum has been reopened.
The outreach feeding program at the dump will
resume now that peace has been restored. Thank
you for your prayers and support that have made
all of this possible. Please pray for Pastor
Meshack and Grace as they rebuild in these difficult
times.
Personal
News
Roger
has just returned from three weeks of ministry
in Texas and Florida. We have some exciting
news. Our daughter Heather and husband Joe are
expecting a baby boy in August. They have been
trying for 6 years. We are so blessed to live
nearby and be able to share in this precious
gift.
In
His service,
